Tattoo Aftercare

Follow the instructions given by your tattoo artist, especially when a protective film or specialized dressing is used. These general reminders are not a substitute for individualized advice.

1. Follow dressing instructions

Keep protective dressing on for the timeframe recommended by your artist. Wash your hands before touching your new tattoo.

2. Wash gently

Once your dressing is removed, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. Pat dry with a clean paper towel or allow to air dry.

3. Let your tattoo heal

Use a thin layer of artist-recommended fragrance-free moisturizer if advised. Avoid scratching, picking, soaking or swimming during healing. Keep healing skin away from prolonged direct sun exposure.

4. Know when to ask for help

Some soreness and mild flaking can occur. If pain worsens, redness spreads, you develop pus, fever, or chills, seek prompt medical evaluation. Seek urgent care for serious allergic symptoms.
